Midwife means, ‘With Woman’.

We strive to be ‘with women’ throughout their lives: from menarche through menopause, and we offer a holistic, functional medicine approach that is unique and wholesome.

We believe in lifestyle medicine and are committed to educating women that prioritizing a healthy diet, movement, sunlight, community and sleep is important not only for their physical health, but mental health as well.

Our mission…

We care for women who…

are invested in their own health and their pregnancy, and strive to keep healthy women healthy before, during, and after pregnancy through education and support.

Our goal…

is to give women the tools, resources, and support to have a low risk pregnancy, support physiologic birth, and to arm women to make the right decision for their growing families.

We specialize in…

a low-tech, high-touch approach, and we want to change what birth can look like in a hospital setting.

We desire…

for each prenatal course and birth to be beautifully recognized, positive, and surrounded with love and support.

Meet your Midwives

  • I am an Arizona Native, married to my high school sweetheart, and a mother of 3.

I attended Arizona State University where I obtained my Bachelor’s of Science degree. After experiencing a life changing birth of my eldest daughter, I obtained my midwifery degree at Georgetown University. I also have enriched my learning with a supplemental lactation course at Arizona State University, colposcopy certification with American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and rigorous training under many other midwives/internationally certified lactation consultants/naturopathic doctor who specialized in unmedicated, low intervention, out of hospital birth.

I have a strong desire to bring holistic, high touch, personalized care to other women. My main interests are teen care, lactation, preventative women’s health, and the sensitive postpartum time.

When I am not working, I like anything Disney, to read, bake and to be in nature.

  • Hi! My name is Karline and I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. I had the honor of receiving my Master’s of Nursing degree at Georgetown University, and my undergraduate degree (BSN) from the University of Wyoming. In nursing school, I found my undying love, and unmatched passion, for maternity and women’s care. I still remember the first birth I ever witnessed, and I remember how it brought tears to my eyes. It was truly amazing to see how powerful and uninhibited women could be during labor/birth, and how beautiful and sacred a birth space truly was. I knew from that point forward I wanted to seek a career that allowed me to be a part of women’s lives during labor, birth, and beyond. I was a labor nurse for five years in Wyoming, which was truly an invaluable experience.

After some time, however, I knew I wanted to help change what hospital birth could look like. My desire to empower women to birth naturally/physiologically, arm them with the resources needed to make well-informed decisions every step of the way, and to support them through every phase of life led to my decision to go back to school to become a CNM/WHNP.

My mission is to educate women to take control of their health throughout their entire life. I believe in listening to women, encouraging them to trust their bodies, and to encourage holistic health in mind, body, and spirit.

When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my husband, son, and crazy dog as much as I can! I enjoy going on hikes, spending time with those who are closest to me, exploring thrift shops/yard sales, listening to podcasts, and drinking coffee!

  • I have been caring for women since 2001 and delivering maternity care to women throughout their lifespan for over 20 years. I have been with Estrella Women’s Health Center since 2005. I am a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Certified-Nurse Midwife and doula.

In 2015, I began course work with the Institute for Functional Medicine. I studied under Dr Aviva Romm MD as a Women’s Integrative Functional Medicine Practitioner. I have completed Dr Zach Bush MD Journey to Intrinsic Health. I hold dual graduate degrees from University of Missouri and Thomas Jefferson University. I was trained by Bridge Midwife Haize Hawke for doula certification. As a CNM, I use a root cause approach to helping women understand their pregnancies and beyond. I too have a strong desire to keep healthy women healthy, with a focus on physiologic birth & low intervention in a normal pregnancy by using a functional medicine approach, low tech-high touch personalized care.

I am passionate about empowering women to care for their bodies with good nutrition, sleep, exercise and healthy choices. I believe in the power of community and I strongly believe in root cause medicine and the connection between lifestyle and disease. And I strive to help women understand their bodies and their PLACE OF POWER in their own birth story.

I am married with 2 children. My fitness involves CrossFit, walking my beloved dogs, Chloe & Charolette, and keeping up with 2 active teens. I have loving friends and family that help make this journey of midwifery possible. I am a Level 1 CrossFit trainer, and have attended BirthFIT professional seminars. I also enjoy skiing, vacationing on a beach or in nature grounding and reading.

  • Hi friends! My name is Nicole Gonzales and I am passionate about midwifery and the support it provides to my patients. For my pregnant mamma’s, I desire to empower and support their birth plans, all while honoring the process of physiologic birth. I strive to help women feel confident in the knowledge of their bodies, and in their awareness of any normal or abnormal changes that may occur.

I love my two earthside babies, Ezra and Lucy, and my one heavenside baby, Hope, lost to miscarriage. Pregnancy and infant loss are close to my heart and I hope to support women who experience them in any way I am able.

As a nurse, I worked mostly in pediatrics and spent 5 years practicing at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. I have always had a deep desire to be a midwife, and was able to study at Frontier Nursing University where I completed my Master’s degree in Nurse- Midwifery. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Arizona.

During my studies, I was honored to spend time training at a birth center, and have been able to incorporate those skills and knowledge into the hospital practice.

In my free time I am active in my Christian faith, and enjoy spending time with friends and family.

I look forward to caring for you!
